Why we undertake “spiritual journeys”.

By “chance” I scrolled past a post on Emily Salomon’s blog yesterday that mentioned the Camino de Santiago. The old pilgrim’s road in Spain that an increasing number of people walk each year.
Recently, I wrote a post on an upcoming journey of and to the heart in Italy, that I’m inviting whoever feels interested, to join.

But why should we take interest in so-called “spiritual journeys”? Why do we seek hours upon hours of, say, walking?

I walked past a commercial today that reminded me of the answer.
Because, when we seek the vast spaces – like the desert, the mountains or something similar – it is really that space within ourselves that we are seeking. And in turn, finding.
