At skrive, at læse og at lære. / To write, to read and to learn.

The more one is able to devote oneself, the more one is able to learn. Today’s wise words. 🙂

After this mornings writing-time, a coffee (that spilled) and some reading…

I closed down my laptop, went into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee , took it to the couch where I sat down under the woollen blanket. It was windy and raining  outside. Today’s writing-session was harder to get through than any of the earlier ones this week… But that’s how it goes sometimes. There’s nothing else to do about it than to simply accept it, soldier on and take yourself through it. ❤ My trick, when this happens, is to try and do something different, like going back to skim over the text so far to regain the thread. As I did today. And even when I didn’t hit the “ideal” word count for the day (that is, the word count I’d hoped to arrive at) I did write (which in itself is enough). Furthermore, I learnt something else, perhaps more important. Which has to do with the tempo of the story. Actually, I discovered it as I was reading and could compare the writing in this particular book to that of my own.
There has to be made space for the book, one has to slow down (mentally) enough to be able to (more or less minutely) describe what is happening. As in a written movie.
And for that to happen, not being in a hurry is essential.
